Upright is a piano that stands in the fold.
An app for iPhone Duo, and for any iPhone turned sideways. Here's how it
plays, and how to reach me.
Playing
- On iPhone Duo, stand the phone up like a small laptop, folded to about 90°. The
music comes down the half that stands, onto the keys on the table.
- With the phone closed, the song book is on the cover screen. Choose a piece and it
waits on the music desk until you stand the phone up.
- On other iPhones, turn the phone sideways. The keys run along the bottom of the
screen.
Two ways to play
- Tiles, for the lively pieces. Tap each tile before it reaches the felt and it
plays the next notes. Miss one and the run is over; finish and the piece comes round
again, a little faster.
- At the piano, for the gentle ones. The notes fall onto the real keys. Wait
holds the music until you find each note, Play keeps time, and Listen plays it for
you.
Questions
- There's no sound. Turn the volume up. Upright plays even in silent mode.
- A MIDI file plays the wrong part. Upright plays track one as the tune and
track two as the left hand.
- Where are my best scores? On your phone, inside the app. Deleting the app
deletes them.
